2017 DuBois Receives Patent for Neutra Solve
January 18th, 2017 - DuBois Chemicals has been granted a patent for its Neutra Solve™ line of cleaners.
The Neutra Solve line of products are solvent blend cleaners specifically designed to match the properties of contaminants found in recycled paper fiber. Manufactures of recycled paper products can experience significant manufacturing challenges from hot melts and adhesives composed of polyvinyl acetate, styrene acrylic, styrene butadiene, latex and similar materials. Typical solvent based cleaners do not have properties ideally matched to these contaminants and are often used in excess to be effective. The unique blend of solvents in Neutra Solve is much more efficient in removing these soils.
“Neutra Solve products can be used by tissue, paperboard, and paper manufactures to remove recycled contaminants from the machine fabrics, rolls, and other surfaces” says John Schwamberger, Paper Chemicals Product Line Manager. “It will allow these manufacturers to better remove these contaminants, use less solvent, and reduce total volatile organic content (VOC) emissions.”

Zirconization in the Spotlight
August 3, 2012 - Zirconization, DuBois Chemicals cutting edge phosphate-free pretreatment technology, will be featured in both Metal Finishing and Products Finishing magazines this month. Take a moment to read about one of our company’s most successful innovations.
Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. Embraces Zirconization
June 15, 2012 - As part of its mission to be eco-friendly whenever possible, Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. (KPI-JCI) is taking a step in the right direction by implementing a sustainable state-of-the-art pretreatment and coating process on certain equipment parts that maximizes performance while minimizing the impact on the environment. The new pretreatment process uses Zirconization™, a patented water-based, low-temperature pretreatment technology based on highly corrosion-resistant materials that are free of solvents, phosphates and heavy metals.
Kolberg-Pioneer didn’t stop with simply improving the pretreatment process, according to Bruce Dunham, marketing/technical manager for DuBois Chemicals Surface Finishing Sector. The company also installed a state-of-the-art coating system capable of applying and curing a powder coating versus a liquid paint. This coating system not only enhances the appearance of the equipment, but also protects it from the elements that cause corrosion, thus maximizing the product’s useful life.
“If you have ever used a can of spray paint, you are familiar with the strong solvent odor,” Dunham said. “When used on an industrial level, solvent-based liquid paints can add cost associated with environmental and health and safety monitoring and reporting. Kolberg-Pioneer has mitigated these issues by specifying a powder coating that provides a durable, corrosion-resistant coating to protect its customer’s investment.”

DuBois CEO Jeff Welsh is excited about the unique solutions that Galaxy and DuBois can provide to their customers. “Galaxy is a truly great entrepreneurial company,” said Welsh. “The complementary nature of our cultures, products and end markets will allow us to deliver a breadth of solutions that exceed our customer’s expectations. DuPulse Receives Patent
October 16, 2009 - DuBois is pleased to announce that it has been granted a U.S. patent for our DuPulse™ Technology titled, “Press Stable Method of Cleaning Paper Machine Press Fabrics On-the-Run” (Patent no. 7,597,782).
DuPulse has provided benefits to many paper machines across North America. It has been demonstrated to provide conditions in the press section that are more stable during cleaning than other press felt cleaning method. It has also been able to reduce the heated fresh water use on some machines. In one instance press section water use was reduced by more than 1.5 million gallons per month. Some customers have also documented higher solids leaving the press section, which can provide significant energy savings in the dryer section as well as fewer breaks.
DuPulse technology also offers enhanced worker safety while cleaning machine fabrics, due to its use of low chemical concentrations needed to remove soil contaminants.
Neutra Shield for Paper Mills
October 6, 2009 - DuBois announces the launch of its Neutra Shield™ chemistry. The product is a surface modifier for paper machine forming wires, press felts, rolls, and other surfaces.
